“Athletics are really the foundation of how kids’ attitudes are formed and shaped.” -Herm Edwards

My earliest childhood memory is of me, about 3 or 4 years old, playing basketball in my driveway with my older brother. I remember dashing around, smiling as if my cheeks were taped to the top of my ears, with the ball in my hand, unable to dribble due to my stubby arms and minuscule hands while my brother shrieked “Travel! Travel!” towards me (“Whatever that means”, I thought).
It does not matter that I cannot vividly recall every last, precise detail of that day because what I do remember about that chilly, autumn day when laughter permeated the air and children’s footsteps littered the cement has remained with me always: sports are more than just a sense of entertainment or physical activity, but they are a lifestyle that can serve as a means of closely connecting us to new people or the ones we love.
Why Should You Care Who I Am
As a 19-year-old freshman at the University of Hartford studying Digital Media and Journalism as well as competing on the school’s Division 1 Track and Field team, I have a deep sense of appreciation and gratitude for sports, and I want to display my passion for others so that they too may share a similar love and affection with me.
As an avid sports fan who, although I am reluctant to admit as a college student, would much rather observe a dazzling LeBron James dunk or a soaring Mookie Betts home run than do almost anything else other than compete myself, I plan on analyzing, updating, and sharing many of the latest sports content from around the world.
Why? Because I am forever indebted to sports, no matter how much I pay back to the thing I love most, simply due to the mentors and friends it has given me, the invaluable lessons, such as determination, teamwork, cooperation, and discipline, it has taught me, and the bonds it enabled me to strengthen with my parents and two brothers.
In Summary
As my years of competition begin to wane down, the thought of forever being disconnected from, or merely becoming a routine fan of, sports is a terrifying and haunting image. I plan to transform my obsession for sports into a page that authorizes others like me to learn more about the leagues, organizations, teams, and athletes that they love, or maybe even ones they have never even heard of.
To me, sports are not just a means of physical activity or momentary entertainment; it’s that and so much more. Sport is a lifestyle. That is what this page will attempt to accomplish with every post, article, or picture presented within its walls… sport is a lifestyle.
